Walk through the halls of Notre Dame Catholic School and you will see tall, sturdy boxes filled with shoes, just one of our latest service projects, “Soles for Souls”. Our student council is coordinating a shoe collection for Haiti as an All School Lenten Project. Our other project during Lent is a monetary collection for Women’s Hope, an organization organized and supported by the Sisters of Benedict. These are just a sampling of the many service projects our students participate in throughout the year.
The students of Notre Dame Catholic School live the Gospel of Matthew, “Whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as ransom for many.” Following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ our students are given numerous opportunities to serve their school, their church, their local, national and world community. In Catholic schools we don’t just preach the Gospel we live it.
